Heathrow begun as the Great West Aerodrome in the 1940s, eventually expanding to five terminals in 2008. Terminal 2 shortly closed down in 2009 for renovation. 2014 saw the arrival of the new Terminal 2, which would be the biggest terminal in Heathrow! In 2015, Heathrow lost one of its oldest terminals, Terminal 1, which fell prey to expansion by its bigger sister, Terminal 2.
